The ONS estimates that by 2034, individuals aged 65 and over will account for 23% of the population.

Life expectancy has reached its highest level in the UK – 79.4 years at birth for males and 83.1 years for females

Less than half of the population are in employment the year before they are eligible for their state pension, lower than it was in 1950.

Over 3.5 million people aged between 50 and 64 are economically inactive in the UK.

There has been a 40% rise in unemployment amongst the over 50s in the last 2 years.

1 in 3 people over the age of 50 are out of work, compared with 1 in 5 for younger people.

Our Work So Far…

We deliver practical workshops, guidance and creative solutions that help individuals, working with organisations that support the over 50’s.

For those people who cannot access our services we are currently developing e-learning packages.

Since 2014 we have delivered in excess of 300 workshops for mature people in Blackpool, Hull, Manchester and London.

Provided over 150 one to one coaching hours to individuals in 2017.

Over 50% of those attending our startup workshops went on to start their own business or community business (Chapter 3 Longitudinal study Kingston-upon Hull 2017). 47% of over 50s businesses are still trading after 5 years.

Over 80% of those attending our “Get Unstuck” and “Next Step programme” left with new options, focus and clarity of the next step.

We have delivered many conferences and events including:

Inspirational networking events for example: Be Bold Be Brave, Tears Trials and Tribulations, Triumphs of the Olderpreneurs, Get Unstuck.

Over 50s initiative for example: The Ageing Workforce. Partnered by the Humber LEP, DWP and introduced by Baroness Ros Altman.

Partnered with local organisations to run competitions. Recently we ran “Best Community Start up” in conjunction with the British Library Business and Intellectual Property Centre in Hull awarding a cash prize, free 4 page website and business stationery.
